Academy for Professional Education and Development (APED)

Heep Hong Society commits itself to helping children and youth with special needs develop their potential and live a fulfilling life. Relentless efforts have been made to provide various professional training and education programmes for parents, teachers and practitioners, with an aim of enabling them to train the children effectively with appropriate skills and knowledge. To further improve teaching resources and respond to the needs of society, Heep Hong Society established the Academy for Professional Education and Development (APED) in September 2014. Upholding the motto ‘Transferring Knowledge．Unleashing Potential’, APED provides a greater variety of high quality and systematic professional education and development programmes to a wider community, complemented with our new research and technology on training packages and computer applications. With the establishment of APED, Heep Hong Society will sustain our efforts in nurturing talents for the industry and empowering parents to raise their children with special needs. All professional education and development programmes are designed and directed by Heep Hong's distinguished team of professionals. Heep Hong Society have adopted evidence-based training approaches, blended with years of practical experience and new knowledge gained from exchanges with local and overseas universities. APED has gratefully invited a number of local and overseas scholars and clinical experts from various disciplines to act as the honorary advisors. With their valuable and professional input, APED will be able to provide timely, relevant and high quality training programmes to the community. Heep Hong Society look forward to working with people from all walks of life to help children and youth with different abilities to create a better future.
