In February 2008, the Association officially changed the name to “SAHK”, the Chinese name “香港耀能協會”.

Pre-school services aim to meet the individual learning needs and development of children, including autism, specific learning difficulties, developmental delay, physical handicap etc., aged from 0 to 6 years old by providing them with training and assistance.

There are a total of 2 early education and training centres, 8 special child care centres and 1 district-based speech therapy team. 5 of the special child centres also offer early education and training services and 2 offer residential service for families with special needs.

The Association currently operates 3 special schools which provide primary and senior secondary quality education to about 300 children with physical disabilities.

The school curriculum is designed based on Conductive Education principles, and with the collaboration among the professional trans-disciplinary team which include teachers, physio/occupational/ speech therapists, social workers, educational psychologist and nurses, emphasizes will be made on the special educational and abilities of the student.
