Hong Kong Red Cross Margaret Trench School

The School is a Government Aided Special School for the physically handicapped students, founded and sponsored by the Hong Kong Red Cross in 1973.
We operate Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 6 levels. Based on the principle of “One Curriculum for All”, we provide inclusive education for all students with learning difficulties. Students’ studies are divided into 4 Key Stages and monitored by 4 Quality Teams. We are one of the schools joining the SAME Project led by the University of Hong Kong. We adopt an intra-school unified assessment tool SCALE to collect achievement data of students. The achievements of students are described in 12 levels.
We provide Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Work Service, Medical Caring Service, and Educational Psychology Service. We use Assistive Technology, Sensory Integration, and Multi-sensory Treatments.
We have established the Scout and the Red Cross Youth to cultivate students’ independent and leading skills.
Our Teacher, Ms Mandy Tam, was awarded the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence 2007-2008.
