Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Department of Paediatrics

The Department of Paediatrics of Queen Elizabeth Hospital is one of the biggest paediatric departments in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The department provides quality patient care to the population of central Kowloon region. The department has 195 beds and also runs a number of specialty and general paediatric clinics at the Ambulatory Care Centre.

Apart from the general paediatric clinic, there are a number of specialist clinics at the Ambulatory Care Centre. These include endocrinology and metabolism, nephrology, haematology and oncology, neurology, neonatology, cardiology, rheumatology, diabetes mellitus, respiratory and allergy clinic. A special paediatric clinic is available to look after children infected with human immunodeficiency virus.

For children with chronic disabilities, the department of paediatrics also runs multidisciplinary clinics to cater for their need. There are clinics for children with complex urological problems, spina bifida, neurodevelopmental disorders, special seating needs and diabetes mellitus. Interventional cardiac catheterization and open heart surgery are provided for children suffering from heart problems.
